ABOUT ME

A fiesty milksnake and I at Dolly Sods Wilderness, WV

My current research efforts focus on the evolution of scorpion and herpetofaunal lineages in relation to geography. Generally speaking, my interests are more multifaceted, as I am intrigued by nearly any aspect of scorpion, reptile, and amphibian biology. Fortunately, the convenient setting of UNLV provides a place where I can concentrate on several of these interests at once. As a research assistant, I work with wildlife biologist and assistant professor Jef Jaeger to protect remaining populations of relict leopard frogs; a candidate species for federal listing. In addition, I will complete biogeographic research that addresses scorpions and their place in the North American desert biota. My doctoral studies will be advised by both Jef and the reputable biogeographer Brett Riddle.
